Working in my studio in all mediums, occupies most of my painting time. But outside in the countryside watercolour is a wonderful and immediate medium to work with. The movement, shapes and colour combinations of Hebridean nature are in sympathy with the medium of pure watercolour on paper.
And it is practical and easy to carry outside Remote places can seem hostile and even frightening until they are walked, climbed or painted. To sit and paint with Golden Eagles flying overhead and to sit and paint where few people ever come is possible here.
